Before the incident

[REDACTED] was cutting blocks at her microtomy station. When she got to the gall bladder block she faced into the block and noticed there was a staple in the block. She pulled the staple out of the block using her forceps and set it aside. [REDACTED] continued to cut the block and made a slide. After she had made a slide she put the quality issue in the Vantage work station and went to grab the staple so that she can put it on top of the block she got cut on her left thumb by the sharp barb that was on the staple. She got up washed out the blood covered it and reported it to her supervisor. She went to Employee Health.
