What happened
While checking on the status of the Emergency Department I was flagged down by an Aircare flight member. I was asked for assistance in loading their gurney as their patient was particularly heavy. While loading the gurney it slipped from the back of the helicopter. I caught the gurney which put a lot of pressure on my left wrist. We then successfully loaded the patient without further incident.
