Being given shift change report from previous security shift.
What happened
While stationed at security 's Behavioral Holding desk in the Emergency Department security 's help was requested by the charge nurse to assist a patient out of their vehicle. Upon arrival it was determined that the patient needed to be removed as she could no longer move on her own. I picked up the patient and placed her on the stretcher clinical staff had provided for her transport into the hospital for emergency treatment. In the process of providing this lift a sharp pain shot through my back that has persisted overnight.
