Before the incident
inserting blood from syringe to lab tube
What happened
Assisting RN with collecting labs for Lumbar puncture (patient needed 2x red top). RN drew blood and I was putting the blood in the lab tubes. Didn 't have the correct supplies in radiology department to connect syringe directly so used blunt needle. When all the blood was transferred to tube syringe needle removed and became pressurized and sprayed everywhere.
