Before the incident
On the morning of [REDACTED] around [REDACTED] one of our mechanics stepped in an uncovered udrain that was filled with condensate while he was walking up on the job preparing to work on a pump The employee received burns (less than 25 of the body) on the top of his foot (5x7 area upper foot wrapping around the ankle) and lower leg (2x4 area on the back of the calf) from the hot water he was immediately taken to first aid where he was treated and then taken to our local hospital for further evaluation The medical staff treated him there classifying them as 2nd degree burns The employee saw our designated mill medical director on [REDACTED] The mill medical director has recommended a followup evaluation with a wound care specialist on [REDACTED] The mill employee is currently working with medical restrictions Initial Investigation Findings: Limited visibility due to cold temperatures creating a steam and fog in the area Udrain cover was pushed out of udrain channel from the water level
