Before the incident
carrying a patient via Reeves transport stretcher walking on uneven ground surface
What happened
Unit 273 dispatched to assist Unit 284 with lift assist. I was carrying the ALS gear and Reeves and when reaching the driveway the ground was uneven and my left foot rotated inward. A pop was felt and heard and ankle became swollen. I became nauseous lightheaded and diaphoretic and was unable to bear weight on left foot. I went to ER for evaluation and found the ankle to not be broken but possible torn tendon or ligament.
