Before the incident
Responding to jamming overlapping tile at the Exit of Dryer 4.
What happened
TM responded to an alarm at the exit of [REDACTED] 4 due to on and off tile jams overlapping all night long. The teammate by-passed a safety guard that was not in place and then did not follow posted AWP procedure to safely de-energize equipment resulting in left index finger being caught in pulley. The dryer was stopped prior to entering the machine; however it was due to a glaze line stoppage that eventually turned back on when TM was inside checking tension on the belt.
