Before the incident
Drilling into a steel enclosure using drill press with a 21mm drill bit. Hand on enclosure to limit vibrations and keep the drilling steady.
What happened
Drill bit caught in the metal and wrenched the enclosure out of the clamp. Enclosure remained on the drill bit and spun until machine was turned off. While spinning the enclosure contacted the employee 's left wrist causing laceration in their skin.

Laceration on left wrist able to see artery. 10 stitches were required.
