Before the incident
Employee was emptying a large plastic overpack drum with a metal 55-gallon drum weighing around 150 lbs. stuck inside. Both the metal 55-gallon drum and the plastic overpack drum were lying on its side.
What happened
The employee asked for lifting assistance from a nearby maintenance employee. Both employees attempted to lift and pull the metal 55-gallon drum sideways out of the overpack drum when the employee felt a sharp pop pain in their right shoulder. The next day the employee stated that in addition to shoulder pain their pain radiates up into their right side of the neck and has difficulty raising their arm above their head.
