What happened
While responding to a call law enforcement gave EMS a heads up that the patient has a history of being combative with EMS. We placed the soft restraints on the cot prior to patient contact. The patient was cooperative to get on the cot. The seatbelts were place on the patient. Patient then began yelling and removing the seatbelts. Pt then began kicking striking me in the head. The patients leg while kicking went up and behind my head striking my upper back and head and then back down striking my left wrist. The patient was then physically restrained to the cot.
