Restarting line after splicing a roll.

Operator lost trim and was trying to get it back in the pipe. Operator said they was running at [REDACTED] so they could keep the trim coming. They grabbed the trim as it got caught on the nip roller and their finger got pulled in with it. The tip of their finger was caught and they said it felt mushy. As they pulled away they had a wet feeling on their hand. The nip had ripped off the middle finger nail and pulled the top layer of skin around the nail and on the bottom of the finger off as well. Operator came and got me at the reclaimer. We immediately walked to the sink and got it as clean as we could. Operator mentioned they felt like they were in shock and had light headed feeling and weak legs. After cleaning it I wrapped it with a gauze pad and wrap and then took them to the ER. Once he was settled in there I headed back to work and started the biohazard clean up and then afterwards started the investigation report.
