Before the incident
responding to a client 's call asking for staff to come to her apartment
What happened
A client called staff to come to her apartment. When staff arrived they found the client standing in a pool of blood with a scarf wrapped around her leg over a wound. The client removed the scarf to show the wound and it started spewing blood. The employee reacted by holding pressure to the wound before donning PPE. After EMS arrived and treated the client the employee washed her hands and noticed that she had small tears in her skin around her fingertips and minor scratches on the back of her hands.
