Patient came in fully dilated with 3rd baby; ready to deliver newborn unmedicated. Writer was holding patient 's legs back to prevent shoulder dystocia & aid in the delivery process while patient was pushing without an epidural. As writer was pushing patient 's legs back the patient was pushing her legs forcefully forward due to pain. As writer was supporting leg and patient; writer felt a sharp sudden pain in Left Shoulder that radiated lower back.
