What happened
After collecting the last tube of blood on the patient I was pulling the needle out and getting ready to activate the safety lock the needle slide from my hand and scraped my left hand on the thenar region at the base of the left thumb.

Thenar region of the left thumb.. At the time of the injury I bleed from the injury site thenar region base of the left thumb.

I got scraped by a needle straight needle gauge 23 that I had used to draw blood on a patient.
