He was going to break the chain to get to the [REDACTED] he had a come-along supporting the chain to prevent the chain from falling on the floor. He started to walk across the raceway to loosen the come-along when his right foot hit a lug causing him to slip. He was still holding onto the handrail which he caught himself straining his right shoulder.
