Using compressed air to clean up

Team member was beginning the initial blowdown of the [REDACTED] outfeed area. He when he pressed the handle on the air wand a gust of air leaked from the handle connection and blew dust towards his face. A small particle of sawdust entered his left eye under his safety glasses. Team member flushed his eye and thought he removed the debris and returned to his task. Before leaving shift he reported it to his supervisor. After work his eye continued to have discomfort. When he arrived at his next shift his eye was red swollen and visibly irritated. It was determined to go for medical evaluation. He was diagnosed with a scratch to his cornea. He was prescribed a prescription ointment for his eye.
