Before the incident
Employee came to work the day prior ([REDACTED]) but before even clocking in decided to take a point and go back home because he had flu-like symptoms and was throwing up. Forty-two minutes into his shift on [REDACTED] after resting briefly at his workstation he walked from it toward the bathroom.
What happened
While walking he passed out faceplanting into the floor. He was taken to the clinic where he received sutures for the laceration to his chin jaw received an EKG and was taken off work till [REDACTED] [REDACTED]. The clinic ran labs determine if the cause was heat or other illness related. The heat index was approximately 102 degrees Fahrenheit at [REDACTED] right after the incident. The site had allowed voluntary leave [REDACTED] [REDACTED] just after [REDACTED]. The employee left then. On [REDACTED] [REDACTED] the employee left around [REDACTED] about 2 hours after the voluntary leave option was given. Employee had gone through acclimatization. The lab results indicated his white blood count was high and that he was dehydrated. The medical professional also took his temperature on [REDACTED] when he came into the clinic because he was shivering horribly but he didn’t have a fever another sign of heat exhaustion. The white blood count was only slightly elevated which also can happen
