What happened
As a piece came out of the shear it pushed the backend of the piece ahead of it downward lifting the front of that piece into the air. When the two pieces lost contact with each other the front end of the first piece fell down onto the conveyor. The operator was reaching for the first piece at the same time it landed on the conveyor pinching their left middle finger between the material and a conveyor roller.
