Mill Operator was assisting another employee package a skid of structural studs at the end of line 3. The operator walked over to the adjacent upcut saw to grab additional wood runners that had been precut for the skid.

As they were coming back with the wood they walked in between the portable banding cart and the material they were attempting to package (which was sitting on two finished goods carts). The employee 's right foot caught the edge of the banding cart causing them to lose their balance and fall forward. The operator instinctively put their hands out in front of them which resulted in their right thumb being bent awkwardly when it contacted the ground.
