Before the incident
Threading a strap through the trailer and rack for load securement
What happened
Warehouse employee was preparing a stoce delivery to a customer which requires threading straps through the side rail of the trailer and into the feet of the stoce. The strap got caught on a rubber flap that covers the opening on the trailer. The employee was using left hand to hold the rubber flap open and right hand to pull the strap through. The strap was under a little tension and then came loose as he was pulling it causing the back of his right thumb to contact the bottom of the glass on the rack. This contact caused a 1.5in curved laceration.
