Before the incident
Cutting support rods inside of the furnace.
What happened
An employee was inside our furnace repairing support rods that were in our furnace and had to go into a very tight space where he was using a 4 angle grinder. After exploring several options he decided that the only option was to take off the guard to accomplish the cutting job that he had to finish. When cutting the grinder kicked back and cut through his leather glove causing a cut which required medical attention at the local urgent care facility.
