What happened
While cleaning the poly skid the employee was removing dried polymer from a spring within the check valve with a knife when it broke free and flicked up in the employees face. Employee had previously removed safety glasses because they had become fogged. Lack of eye protection caused the polymer to enter the employees left eye.
