The employee was attempting to fix the cable hoist used to lift filter bags. The operator that had been using this piece of equipment went to get maintenance to fix the cable hoist and the affected employee stepped in to try to fix it.

The cable was folded up on itself and the employee was trying to fix it. They had their left hand on the cable and pushed the down button but the hoist went up instead catching their left middle finger.
