Before the incident
The employee was moving a 200lb (3ft long) metal part with another employee in a basket to prep for heat treating. The other employee 's hand slipped and he dropped the part 1-2 feet down. The part fell on the injured employee 's left hand when he couldn 't get it out of the way fast enough.
What happened
When the part slipped out of another employee hand the employee could hang on to the part due to its weight. He didn 't have time to get his hand out of the way and the part was dropped on his hand.
