What happened
He was cutting 1 PVC pipe on the vertical bandsaw for spacers on a glass cart. While cutting the PVC he was observed pushing the weighted hand lever up and down very fast to move the blade back and forward to cut the pipe it is unclear if he was stopping to clear what he had cut or was still working. If he was clearing the saw of cut parts it was not shut off. While working he claims the weighted handle popped up causing the blade to rush straight back and strike the thumb and hand
