Before the incident
Crew had just finished loading a step deck trailer with trees and were covering the load with a tarp. Employee was standing on the trailer just behind the cab of the truck and was securing the tarp with heavy twine.
What happened
Employee had to work around the root balls of the trees loaded on the trailer to secure the tarp. He placed his feet in an area between a root ball and a strap that was securing the root ball to the trailer. He reached forward to grab twine that was tied to the tarp. When he pulled the twine tight it broke causing him to lose his balance. He fell sideways off the trailer to the ground.
