Before the incident
I was about to do an IVP of decadron as instructed by surgeon 's order.
What happened
I went to unscrew the needle to do push and the cap came off instead. I poked myself with the clean needle. Patient mom was at bedside with me and did witness. She is a former employee of MRH pharmacy. I told her it was a clean needle I discarded the medication and pulled up a new needle for [REDACTED]. I cleansed my right thumb with soap and water and covered with a bandaid.
