What happened

Nurse was requested to assist the CNA in transferring involved Resident off the toilet. Upon entering the room 105 involved Resident became verbally aggressive and proceeded to punch the IW in the stomach. Nurse intervened and provided education that her behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable. Nurse reapproached involved Resident [REDACTED] without incident. While ambulating in the hallway involved Resident resumed being verbally aggressive. Nurse again redirected involved Resident and educated her that she is being inappropriate. Once seated involved Resident became verbally aggressive again. Following breakfast involved Resident initiated a verbal argument with another resident in the living room. When the IW and nurse redirected involved Resident to the other side of the living room she became verbally aggressive to the IW. After lunch no further behavioral issues were observed. IW informed staff that she fractured a rib due to this incident.
