Before the incident
On [REDACTED] a Weld Mapper entered a FPI inspection booth to ask a question about a part they were working on. As they turned to exit the booth they inadvertently brought their hand too close to a sharp part of a stator casting resulting in forceful contact that caused a laceration on the knuckle of their right ring finger. The Weld Mapper was not wearing PPE as they were not performing an inspection task at the time. After the injury they immediately informed their supervisor and WorkCare was contacted. WorkCare advised transport to Urgent Care for additional evaluation where the employee received treatment beyond first aid.
