On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] a [REDACTED] Cleaning Burn Off operator was performing burn-off work on part number 30699 weighing approximately 500 lbs. While lowering the part using two open hooks the casting became dislodged possibly after catching on a gap in the burn-off shack ceiling and fell about three feet forward striking the operator’s lower left leg. The impact was a glancing blow and the operator’s foot was not trapped. The employee was able to walk away drive a forklift to First Inspection and report the injury to their lead.
