Before the incident

Pushing cart throughout the facility from Biomed to PT to Inpatient medical unit testing ceiling lifts.

What happened

Transporting 550lb of weight on a cart from the Hospital used for testing patient room ceiling lifts back to the Facilities Biomed shop my shoulder was injured trying to pull the cart up the ramp through the door entering the shop. Before attempting to move the cart with weight back through the door I looked for assistance from another caregiver but there was no one around or available to help. This is a non-motorized cart and must be pushed or pulled manually. I felt a sharp pain in my left shoulder as I got the cart back in the shop. As the day went on the pain became worse and by that [REDACTED] it was extremely painful. Unable to use my left arm without shoulder pain. Unable to sleep on the left side due to pain. Level of pain in not as severe [REDACTED] but certainly still present just moving my arm or pulling open a door.
