Before the incident
employee was hand cleaning [REDACTED] using sanitizer towel and scraper; reaching in from the side to clean under the ladder belt; the top hinged guard fell; pinching the end of her left index finger; causing it to tear at the nail and bleed excessively into her glove; the glove was not damaged in any way. Employee was sent to the med center for treatment as finger appeared to be broken and in need of sutures to the first responders on site. Safety manager was contacted; family was called for transport to and from the med center.
