Employee and their partner were lifting a patient on a stretcher into an ambulance.

The battery for the autocot did not raise the stretcher. Employee tried to manually raise the wheels while partner on the stretcher so they could slide the stretcher and the patient into the ambulance. When employee bent over they heard a pop and had instant pain in their lower back.
