Setting up for spotting a crankshaft on the rough lathes
What happened
A rough lathe operator had just completed installing the spotting cable and was in the process of changing gears when he observed a stringer entangled in the cable. While attempting to remove the stringer manually with his right hand the stringer caught and sliced through his leather glove. This resulted in a laceration beneath the operator’s right index finger. The team member was taken to Corry Hospital for medical evaluation. He received eight sutures to close the wound.
