What happened
During a CT-guided bone marrow biopsy procedure performed by Dr. [REDACTED] was assisting when an incorrect cap was placed on a hypodermic needle used to administer lidocaine to the patient. This resulted in the needle protruding beyond the cap unbeknownst to [REDACTED]. While organizing the procedure table [REDACTED] accidentally punctured his finger with the exposed needle. He immediately broke scrub washed his hands and then reported the incident to the ER for medical assessment and treatment.
