Riding on a scissor lift

While performing a task one team member was operating a [REDACTED] dieselpowered scissor lift with another employee riding as a passenger. As the lift was being repositioned from the inboard side to the outboard side of the #3 engine to access and remove the right-hand thrust reverser ducts the operator’s hand slipped off the controls. This caused the lift to stop abruptly resulting in the passenger twisting his knee. Technician was utilizing required PPE for this task including steel toe boots safety glasses hearing protection fall protection harness and hard hat.
