Before the incident
Employee was serving as the Lift Director during the setting of the final tilt wall panel (Panel #27). He was standing by the footing passing a brace up to a crew member.
What happened
While passing a tilt panel brace up to a crew member on the pad the brace became stuck in the dirt. The employee placed his right hand on the lower brace screw to push it loose. As he applied force the brace suddenly shifted and the brace shoe sprang back crushing his right hand near the knuckle area. The crane operator was instructed to cable up to relieve pressure and free his hand.
