Before the incident
Employee states; I was assisting a Dr. with the insertion of an angiocath to patient by holding the patient in position. During the procedure the Dr. removed the needle to adjust the catheter. While attempting to reposition the patient food to facilitate reinsertion i was accidentally stuck by the used needle on my right middle finger. There was no visible bleeding at the site but the are is painful and has a stinging sensation and discomfort. The site was immediately washed with soap an water. Injury- Needlestick to Right Middle Finger (posterior) minor puncture wound.
