United Hospital Neuro Spine RN reports emotional harm caused by a pt 's verbal abuse and attempted physical abuse while working in United Hospital pt room 7905 on [REDACTED] at [REDACTED]. EE was helping care for a pt known to be verbally and physically abusive. The pt hollered from their room vs using call light for help. When EE responded they asked the pt nicely to please use the call light. The pt then began yelling swearing saying racist and very inappropriate comments towards EE. The pt then pushed their side table at EE trying to hit them and food flew everywhere. EE called a code green. When the Code Green staff arrived the pt continued to say racist and very inappropriate comments to EE in front of the other staff.
