What happened
Patient had mepilexes in place over iliac crest for positioning purposes. There were IOM needles in place with tape over but when this person went to remove mepilex the IOM needles came back with tape and a poke occurred. Upon assessment the poke was found to have broke skin. Blood exposure policy procedures were followed.
