Before the incident
Operating the Hudson Sharp Wicket [REDACTED] machine.
What happened
During production the employee encountered a set of bent wicket pins. In an effort to straighten them she used a combination wrench by placing the box-end of the wrench over a pin and applying pressure to the opposite end and to create a bending effect on the pin. Instead of using a smaller wrench that fit snugly over the pin she opted for a larger one. The oversized box-end wrench slipped off the pin during the attempt causing her right forearm to come into contact with an adjacent pin.
Injury or illness
Right forearm close to the wrist received a significant laceration that required 4 stitches. Returned to work that evening with no days away from work or any restrictions.
Object or substance involved
Adjacent wicket pin.
Summary line
Laceration to right forearm + 4 stitches
