What happened

Employee states that he was wearing gloves and moving a 2x4 when a splinter went through his glove and embedded in his hand. He reported it to his supervisor and refused treatment at that time but went home and tried using plyers to remove the splinter. He did not come into the safety office until it was infected and that was the first report we received.
