Before the incident
Employee was cutting a lid flap off of a cardboard box.
What happened
Warehouse operator was proceeding to cut the lid flap off of a box to make access to contents of box. They were using a safety knife with a retractable blade attempting to cut the lid off of the box which was placed on its side. The blade became stuck in the cardboard edge and the operator applied more force and pull on the knife in which case it then moved rapidly and cut into their upper wrist area on their left hand causing an approx. 1 1 2 inch laceration.
