Before the incident

Holding patient 's right hand to enable patient 's nurse place soft wrist restraint on the left wrist. Patient was highly agitated and raised his head and neck up and bit me so hard through the light jacket I was wearing. He would not stop until I pushed my right thumb into the left cheek and pushed it firmly outward. When he stopped I noted a huge swelling to left arm above the elbow where he bit me. His teeth had dug a crater into the spot.
