Before the incident
Shortly after 1st break at approximately [REDACTED] the sort line crew was cleaning under the guarding of the Drum feeder This is a daily practice The material builds up behind the guarding while loading the drum with the commercial single stream It was cold and wet The material froze to the ground Employee used a spud bar to free the material (picture attached) The spud bar is roughly 25 to 30 lbs As he jammed the spud bar under the frozen material and lifted up to free it he felt a twinge in his back He said he felt some soreness the rest of the day but worked through it He reported the back issue the next day via text but without all the details we received today
