Employee states they used pry bar to rotate crankshaft for removal of rod journal oil galley rivets still positioned in cylinder block. Then lifted crankshaft with nylon strap attaching to nose and rear seal main lowered and positioned crankshaft down onto cylinder block with main gear extending off edge to remove last rivet. After rivet was removed employee placed hands and fingers underneath crankshaft and onto nylon slings when the load shifted causing crankshaft to fall into cylinder block.

Employee positioning crankshaft to remove oil rivets from 6090 engine when the crankshaft fell onto and between cylinder block causing end of loss to left middle finger. Employee transported to Cox Hospital for treatment.
