Before the incident
The operators had just removed a previous doff from the winder new roll began to wind when the operator noticed that there was film hanging down from the roll
What happened
The employee reached over the outside spindle bypassing the safety mat and attempted to tuck the film into the running roll when his hand was grabbed by the roll and layon nip pulling him into the winder. The roll continued to wind due to his legs being over the outside spindle and not on the safety mat which caused 1st degree friction burns on his arm and a non displaced fracture in his wrist
