Before the incident
I was going about my normal routine. I was finishing up my draw; about to take the needle out after releasing the tourniquet. as i take out the needle the patient decided to readjust themselves. I was drawing from their left hand.
What happened
Due to the movement of the patient they knocked my hand as i was sheathing the needle and as i was doing so that initial nudge made the tip of the bevel hit my left index finger.
