I was in the hallway talking to the RN on my assignment. My nurse manager and RN assigned to 231D not my assigned patient called me to the room to assist to transfer patient from wheelchair to stretcher.

What happened

I entered room 231D patient 231D was sitting in the wheelchair. I bend down to remove the left leg rest from the wheelchair patient sitting in. While attempting to remove the left leg rest patient physically punched me with their first in my head.
