Before the incident
[REDACTED]
What happened
Associate alleges while attempting to draw patients labs with butterfly needle I missed the pts vein and was readjusting the needle trying to enter the vein. While adjusting I accidentally pulled the needle out of the pt and stuck grazed the finger which I was stabilizing the pts skin with. (left ring finger) I did not end up getting a flash in the butterfly needle as It never entered the patients vein. My finger bled quite a bit I wiped it with an alcohol swab and thoroughly washed my hands immediately after before reporting the incident.
